I'm not crazy about the location but beggers can't be choosers. I wish they could have gotten a deal done with the old Walmart building. That would have been prime location and you already had a lot of other empty buildings to bring other businesses in and revive that shopping center.

And the same person that has been involved in Management of coeburn and wise willbe involved in management in the new one, this area needs a theater that will be properly maintained and that will keep up with the times, remember hwo long it was that no Sony produced movie was allowed to be shown in Wise or coeburn?

    [/ QUOTE ]
The management/ownership at that time was different. Buddy Herron hasn't owned these theaters all that long (he's not even old enough to have owned them too long). He recognizes that the structures/layout/technology are all dated and that a complete rehaul is needed. This is a $2M project he's undertaking in order to bring Wise County theaters into the 21st century.

    [/ QUOTE ]
But they are retaining the same manager, who has been involved in management of the theaters for 20 years, that was what the coalfield said. And the new owner has owned the lee cinema for quite sometime, and that place needs to be bulldozed

Most likely be the same type of setup as Marquee in Kingsport.

    Which sucks.

in order to make some money, they will have to spend some money... so i say, put in top of the line cinema..it'll bring in some good revenue. I just dont see why they dont try to go in partners with tinseltown or another major theater chain.

its relatively close to tinseltown in bristol, so if you think about it it would be competition. now another chain, i honestly dont see why they dont partner up. it would be a good idea.
Cant we all just get along?

    Re: Norton 9 cineplex?

Guys guys guys you talk about the Theater in the mall in kingsport like we have an ALL WORLD theater... seriouly... if they make it anything like the Theater in the mall i'll be tickled to death, cause our theaters around here are quite dated, Hopefully they make a SERIOUS movie theater and keep it up unlike the current ones in Coeburn and Wise.
